The changing Spanish society. The man’s role. LightSpeed Spanish

In these two short interviews, we get the chance to hear from two generations of todays Spanish society. What’s more, they talk about what the role of the man is in a relationship in today’s world.

Certainly, we see the that the intention is for both people in the relationship to share the roles. Whether that ultimately translates into a reality remains to be seen. However, ‘se notan las ganas‘ and going forward, there is sure to be a major shift away from the traditional, ‘macho ibérico‘.

If you are in a relationship and don’t like cooking, then take a leaf out of José’s book. As a true macho Ibérico, his system is a foolproof one and will ensure that your life will be a doddle! Ha, ha. (We are really just joking! Do not try this at home if you value your life!)

I’m all covered in bees! Beekeeping in Spain LightSpeed Spanish

In this action packed video we see Gordon accompanying Pedro el Colmenero de Valdenuño Fernández, in Spain on a trip to see the bee hives. Pedro is the master of beekeeping in Spain and supplies the local honey to all of the village and surrounding areas.

No smoking allowed!

As you will see, we went in there without the aid of the smoke that normally leaves the bees a bit sleepy and so we suffered the wrath of the classic Spanish bee in it’s full fury. We weren’t out to take any honey, only to look at them in their environment, however, they didn’t know that! As you will see, they came for me they would for any intruder, ‘en masa’.

The best Spanish party songs- According to my ‘suegros’.

Just like in most countries, here in Spain there is a definitive list of the best Spanish party songs which always appear in any Spanish party worth its salt.

Unlike the parties in my home country, in which everyone has to have a good old drink before they dare get on the dance floor and sing along to the song, here in Spain, singing and dancing whilst being totally sober is the most natural thing in the world.
